IT’S TIME - #2

Wow – 2 years ago when I started doing triathlons it never even occurred to me that I would do 2 IRONMAN events.  On Sunday I will toe the line for my second IRONMAN in 10 months!  Pretty freakin’ amazing!  :)  It’s still kind of surreal to me.

My body has held up this time around (no major injuries – remember the stress fracture in my pelvis last summer), my Crohn’s disease has remained in check, and I am in better shape this year than I was last year for Louisville.

No more drills, no more intervals, no more hill repeats, no more training – it’s time to go SWIM, BIKE and RUN!  YAHOO!

IM Distance = 140.6 miles
Swim = 2.4 miles
Bike = 112 miles
Run = 26.2 miles

GOALS
My #1 goal again this year is to finish prior to 11:20 PM (race cutoff time) with a smile on my face!  However, I do have some time goals that I would like to achieve:

Swim – 1:45 – 1:55

Bike – 6:45 – 7:30 (average 15 – 16.5 mph)

Run – 4:45 – 5:00 (10:50 – 11:30 pace)

You might be looking at my bike time goal and thinking 45 minutes – way to commit! :)  HA!  That’s what I think too.  I am having a hard time with my biking times – not sure what I will be able to do in CDA so I gave myself some cushion.

With transitions and some other stops total time should be 13:35 - 14:55.  The Louisville and CDA courses are completely different so it’s hard to compare but, I would love to beat my Louisville time which was 14:30.  The Louisville swim was in a river with current, the bike course was mostly rolling hills, and the run course was flat.  The CDA swim is in the lake (yikes), the bike course contains multiple big climbs, and the run course is not flat.  :)  In my opinion the CDA course is much tougher so we will see what happens on Sunday.  I am very excited for race day and am looking forward to seeing what I can do!

TRACKING ME
The race starts at 6:00 AM Pacific Time.  You can follow my progress on race day by going to the Ironman.com site and selecting Results for Coeur d’Alene.  My bib is #633.

I know you will be checking in and cheering me from afar and I really appreciate the support and good vibes!
