- You think biking 45 miles is a short ride. I had a 45 mile bike ride on the plan last Saturday and I realized that I was thinking I have a short ride today. HMMM… really? 45 miles is short? IM training has changed my perspective a bit. I don’t take for granted the fact that I can bike 45 miles so it is interesting that I was actually thinking like that.
- The laundry load of workout clothes is 2-3 times bigger than regular clothes.
- You don’t shower after your morning workout because you still have 1 or 2 more workouts to do later in the day.
- Even after you shower, you still smell like chlorine from being in the pool so often.
- You plan vacations around your race schedule.
- “New” muscles are popping up on your body! :)
- Veins are getting bigger and sticking out. When I go in for my blood draw in a few weeks there is no excuse for the technician to have to poke me more than once this time!
- Having dessert or treat every night is done with a clear conscience – EAT EAT EAT!!! Keep the body fueled!
- Friday
date night gets replaced by a swim workout.
I have a very supportive hubby! :)
- You watch live IM race coverage on your computer or you watch promotional video more than once! Louisville IM 2014 video The end of this video is cool (actually to me the whole thing is cool) but, the end shows a woman being cheered across the finish line just before the time cutoff of 17 hours. You can see the clock tick to 17:00:00 just as she crosses - it's awesome!
